Shout Out to Seattle Met Mag

36Smile! Day 20

50th Anniversary of the 1962 World's Fair in Words and Picture

That's the title of the current Seattle Met Magazine, of which my amazing husband is the Associate Art Director :)

I love when he brings home the magazine when they get it, which means a couple of days before it hits stands which is always the coolest.

I love how he lights about telling me which layouts are his—a lot of the time I can guess— and asks for my opinion on what I like. I love reading the articles and what's new at the mag and around our Emerald City.

This is a special commemorative issue as Seattle is celebrating its 50th anniversary of the World's Fair.

"Fifty years ago, the 1962 World's Fair did more than celebrate global culture. It put Seattle on display, inspired world leaders, and erected a certain needle-shaped tower. Oh, and it ushered American into the Space age."

Every issue of Seattle Met is filled with inspiring articles, out-of-the-box design layouts, quarky blurbs about your favorite celebrities and even fashion finds.

I love this particular issue because of the background it gives you on the World's Fair, the complete vintage feel you get from the colors and layouts—oh and did I mention, they also printed FOUR different covers!

Just a hint on what's on the other covers: amazing shot of the Space Needle, 1962 fashion, one of the old school landmarks, and of course the King, Mr. Elvis Presley in one of the cutest photos ever.

If you haven't picked up your copy of Seattle Met, it must be on your To-Do list this weekend! You wont regret it.

SIDE NOTE: Not to be confused with Seattle Magazine. You will be able to tell the difference :)

What is your favorite column, writer, design layout or blurb that you love about Seattle Met, or your favorite mag?
