Mix 96.5 Project Glam Spring Fashion Show

From Bright Prints to Sheer Maxis

On April 25, I had the pleasure of attending Houston's Mix 96.5 Project Glam, which was an interactive, progressive fashion event that provided guests a unique shopping experience complete with fashion steals and up-close and personal styling services. It also included a high-energy fashion show sponsored by Page Parkes, featuring the hippest trends and hottest hues on the catwalk for 2013.

Houston's very own,  Todd Ramos pulled fashion styles from local boutiques such as Lola G, Fashion Studio, and Dao, Chloe Dao, while Page Parkes models sashayed down the runway. All photography by Ridings from Photographic Tendencies.

Here are the several looks from the fashion-filled night:

Houston's very own MIX 96.5 Spring Project Glam 2013 fashion show was a huge success! With over 600 attendees, this Spring fashion show highlighted all of the top trends for Spring fashion from bright prints to sheer maxis and structured high-low hemlines.

I am so grateful I was able to attend this exciting event and bring the Spring trends straight to you! A special thanks to Zapatero Bucaram Public Relations for letting me be their special guest at this amazing event.

MIX 96.5 will be hosting the Fall edition of Project Glam at the Bayou City Event Center next October and will be featuring the fabulous fall styles for next year. Be sure to keep an eye out for the next show and check back here to get the looks sent straight to your finger tips(and inbox!) first.

Fashion's Night Out - Seattle Style!

Fashion Friday's this week is a recap of none other than Downtown Seattle Rocks the Runway, A Celebration of Fashion's Night Out! The fashion-filled night was held on Thursday, Sept 6 at Pacific Place.

I was beyond excited to be able to see the latest fall fashion from Seattle's favorite boutiques first hand as Seattle Met sponsored Seattle's inaugural large-scale fashion show! Some notable trends you'll be seeing lots of in the fall:
* leather
* brocade prints
* lady like and girl silhouettes
* pleats
* booties: menswear inspired as well

Out with the Camo, In with the Flomo!

Yes, please!

This inspiring new palette — a combo of floral and camo — for fall is sure to make anyone wearing it — and seeing it — smile and feel like a model on the runway of life.

Flomo blends the intricate pattern of camo with the light airiness of the ever-loving floral print. I love all the bright colors I'm seeing for fall, especially with flomo on the horizon—which was originally made popular in the 90's. I'm so over the dull blacks and browns. So, it's time to retire your go-to blacks, browns and navys and add a little color to your wardrobe—and life!

1) Madewell's Silk Flowerveil Top $135
3) Edem Reece Printed Jersey Dress
4) J Crew Ella Dress in flora brocade $188 For those who like FloMo but with a little extra flower detail

Not so brave to try the print fully? Here are some items you can incorporate into your wardrobe until you're fully able to embrace Flomo to the max

Marc by Marc Jacobs Packables Shopper, $68 available at Shopbop
Nicholas Kirkwood Geometric Heel Printed Ankle Boots at $1,595, these are a bit pricey but definitely an investment to your fall fashion wardrobe.

So, are you ready to add some Flomo to your wardrobe? Already seen it around? What's your favorite style? Share below!
