36Smile! Day 40-41
I have been a little behind on my writing so I will be catching up in this post and combining the last five days!
Hopefully you're smiling by the end of this, because every single one of these things made it on the list for a reason.
Saturday: Shopping, lunch, movie, chocolate popcorn, Starbucks
The weather usually determines what Chris and I do over the weekend—as dumb as that sounds. It was set to be sunny all day so we ventured outside. We had plans to see the Pina 3D movie downtown so we made a day of it. Shopping at Forever 21—you're never too old for affordable fashion; lunch at Potbelly's—which I love that they have the calories printed right there on the menu for you. Makes it super easy.
Movie time—as soon as we walk into the movie theater, it smells like homemade chocolate chip cookies. The guy says it's their chocolate covered popcorn. Um, yes please! It was so good, and totally worth how ever many calories and sugar I consumed.
Starbucks time: an old co-worker from Maui was in town visiting her dad, so we met up with her at the U Village Starbucks. She absolutely loves Mac so we couldn't help but bring along our little guy too.
Dinner time: I made homemade Trim Chicken Enchiladas. Yum!
Sunday: Church, Mac, Walking Dead premiere, Grammy's
May not sound like a fun day for some of you but it's what I look forward to every week—at least the church and dog part the most. Only because Chris is actually able to go to Church with me—when he does—and he actually walks the dog with me. For those of you who have dogs, it's important to establish a routine with your dog especially with all "members of the pack" since dogs think of you as their pack leaders. They will respect and listen to you probably a whole lot better than they do already if you assert this positive energy.
Our neighbors also needed some help watching their girl for a couple of hours. Chris came over the last part and helped. It's fun doing that because I get to see how great he is with kids, yet we know we're not quite ready for kids of our own just yet.
Sunday was also the premiere of Walking Dead. Funny story: when my parents came to visit, Chris couldn't stop talking about how good this show was. I didn't want to watch it with him because all he really said was that he was about zombies taking over a small country town. Well, he finally convinced my parents and me when they were here to watch the whole first season and we couldn't stop watching it! Such a great show with superb acting and a well thought out story line. We watch it every Sunday.
Not to mention the Grammy's were on. Chris isn't a big awards show fan. I mainly like to watch it for the fashion and performances, the awards are just a bonus. It was kind of toned down this year. Be it the somber news of Whitney Houston's death or just the fact that they're weren't any OMG moments or blow-me-away performances. The one that really stood out to me was Kelly Clarkson and Jason Aldean. And that's probably because I've been a KC fan since her AI days and I'm a country music lovin' girl.
Remember it's the little things in life that count! Celebrate and enjoy the wonderful life you have!
36Smile! is blog where Sabrina will be writing about and sharing memories that make her smile 365 days of the year! Too often, we are wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of this crazy little thing called life. We should take time out to enjoy the little things that make us smile and celebrate it!
