36Smile! Day 37
Food, entertainment and happy hour at the right venue, are some important essentials for a great night.
Seattle Met Magazine had their 50th anniversary commemorative issue release party for their Seattle World's Fair covers. It was held at the Washington Athletic Club where most of the planning for the Worlds Fair was done—which I thought was cool
Chris of course helped design the issue with his boss and the issue looks amazing. It was their first IRP and there was a good turnout with their advertisers and partners who made the issue possible. The hor d'ouvers were great and drinks a plenty.
The room we were in was a good size for the amount of people and they even had an ice sculpture with the Seattle Met and Seattle Center logos in it—compliments of the WAC. I loved the impressive yet tasteful chandliers blended well with the event. The flower arrangements complimented by the linens added a great vibe to the theme.
We then ventured over to Palomino for some more conversing with his co workers and a good reverse happy hour. Their waffle fries with Gorgonzola cheese was as tasty(and caloric) as it sounds. Just a couple of bits and you're good :) Their thin crust, shaved garlic, tomato and basil pizza was light and the perfect size for sharing. It wasn't greasy at all and just the right amount of tomatoes to compliment the cheese. A definite must try.
We also ran into another friend there too! It was the first time we'd been out in Seattle and ran into someone we knew. It felt good. Kind of like we were back in Houston—not quite—but it still felt good. Palomino's atmosphere also reminded me of Kona in Houston. Great upscale yet informal environment with good food and an ever better reverse happy hour.
I love trying new places and being satisfied. We will be back, Palomino. We'll be back!
36Smile! is blog where Sabrina will be writing about and sharing memories that make her smile 365 days of the year! Too often, we are wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of this crazy little thing called life. We should take time out to enjoy the little things that make us smile and celebrate it!
