36Smile! Day 14
Chris and I have lived in Seattle for 7 months now and have yet to see snow. Until today. All week, I swear it was gorgeous. The sun was shinning all week, it felt great outside and I was even able to go to the dog park.
Come the weekend, and its raining as soon as we wake up. The meteorologists had been saying all week that it was going to snow, and no one believed them because they are notoriously wrong here.
But they were right today. It snowed! My parents even called me to ask me if it was snowing because their weather app on their computer tells them the temperature and it just happen to show them snow. I told my dad that I highly doubt it was going to snow. He was right! Chris and I were in Heaven. It was gorgeous!

It definitely didn't last long. As I write this, the sun is shinning and there are no remnants of snow, at all.
It was fun while it lasted. It's supposed to snow tomorrow, so hopefully we'll get our snow fix then.
Where were you when it started snowing here? Would love to see photos!
36Smile! Day 13
On my run today—which was one hour again!— I ran past a Red Ford Escape, with red, Hawaiian print seat covers. I had the biggest smile on my face!
My twin sister, Marina had the exact same car for the longest time and it was her baby. She loved her Hawaiian print seat covers, Hawaiian stickers on the side—sent from Hawaii— and we had some G-O-O-D times in the car.
We had gone out to the bar so many times in that car—which was named Lucia(LU-SHA); we drove to UH numerous times; we've had our countless sissy shopping/dinner dates; and we have rocked out to Britney Spears, Ace of Base and Clay Walker. So I had a smile on my face thinking of this the whole run.
I miss my sister; I miss that car; I miss Houston; I miss our sissy dates.
I will be going back to Houston in Feb to celebrate her and her fiances wedding. And I couldn't be more happier!
Do you have a special sister memory? What is your favorite?
36Smile! Day 12 Yesterday, I went to the general meeting for the Puget Sound Chi Omega Alumnae group and was installed as their new Vice President!
This definitely made my day.
With a series of rejections and applying to jobs like crazy, I'm starting to wonder.... so something good needed to happen :)
I am so honored to be a part of Chi Omega in this aspect. Chi O has been a part of my life since I first pledged at UH in the Spring of '02 and I have been involved ever since—minus the time we lived on Maui, where there was no chapter.
The alumnae group here has been kind of lacking, so myself and the newly elected officers are excited to breathe new life in the group and get it active again! It's also been a great way to meet new people, too.
I'm looking forward to this new year.
What networking groups have you been involved? Are you an active alum for your alma mater?
36Smile! Day 11 Training for my first 10K!Currently, I am training to run a 10K, 6.2 miles. I ran my first 5k since high school, about a month ago and it felt so good! Now, for all you avid runners, 10K may not like seem very long. But baby steps first! The last two days I have been running for an hour, with just a 3-4 min walk interval. Intervals are important while training to build up your endurance. With the sun out, Britney Spears jamming in my ear, running for an hour felt absolutely incredible today. I feel like I am getting to a point where running 6 miles is going to be a piece of cake. Ooooo that sounds so good right now!Not to mention, I am on a two month coffee and alcohol detox. For several reason, to see how my psoriasis responds to no caffeine or alcohol—which are said to be triggers; because I know I will be drinking copious amounts of both when I go home for my sisters wedding—there is always a pot o'coffee brewing and a bottle of red wine open with my Argentine family around; and third it's always good to detox your body of those while training. I am looking forward to achieving this goal! There are plenty of upcoming Washington races for anyone else who is interesting in continuing their new years resolutions of staying fit and healthy. Good luck!
